COSMIC
Part of Kundi · For Banking, Asset Management, Government
COSMIC is the library of algorithms and models behind every Frontier Foundry application. It holds over 1,000 entries, from classical machine learning, time series and fraud to vision, speech, causal inference and post-quantum cryptography. Every entry ships as independent Python, Rust, C and C++ implementations that must reproduce one reference answer, and each is pinned by a SHA-256 content hash. COSMIC is part of Kundi and is also available on its own.
-
1,000+
algorithms and models
-
4
independent implementations per entry: Python, Rust, C, C++
-
SHA-256
content hash pinned on every entry
A model you can reproduce is a model you can defend.
Regulated firms cannot defend a model they cannot reproduce. COSMIC holds every algorithm to the same standard: four implementations, one reference answer, one pinned hash.
-
Four-Language Conformance
Standalone Python, Rust, C, and C++ programs must each match the reference answer to within one part in a million (≤ 1e-6). Nothing is marked complete to make a run pass.
-
Content-Hash Pinning
Every entry carries a full SHA-256 content hash. Ask for an algorithm by hash and you get exactly that code, or a refusal when the pin does not match.
-
Breadth Under One Standard
Classical ML, time series, fraud and KYC, NLP and OCR, computer vision, speech, foundation-model internals, causal inference, trustworthy-AI methods and numerics.
-
Post-Quantum Cryptography
NIST ML-KEM, ML-DSA, and SLH-DSA (FIPS 203, 204, and 205) are COSMIC entries, verified byte-for-byte against official test vectors for 18 of 18 parameter sets, and protect Tarn's ledger, keys, and connections.
-
Crypto Inventory With Quantum-Exposure Flags
Cryptographic entries are flagged as quantum-vulnerable, reduced or resistant, each with its recommended replacement, so a migration plan starts from an inventory rather than a guess.
-
Refuses Rather Than Guesses
Where an input cannot support an answer, COSMIC says so. A sanctions screen will not return "clear" against a list it could not read, and states how many entries it actually screened.
-
A Library That Keeps Growing
New algorithms are discovered, built and verified on a weekly cadence, and each joins the catalog only after it passes conformance.
-
Backtest Integrity Checks
Purged cross-validation, deflated Sharpe ratios that require the number of trials, multiple-testing correction, and overlap-robust statistics expose overfitted backtests before they reach an investment committee.
-
Isolated Supply Chain
Third-party code is pinned to an exact revision, checksummed, SPDX license-checked, OSV-scanned for known vulnerabilities, and built with no network access.
From reference to pinned, callable code.
Every entry follows the same path before an application can call it.
-
1. Reference
A reference implementation and an expected answer are written for the algorithm.
-
2. Four Implementations
Independent Python, Rust, C and C++ programs are built and must each reproduce the expected answer.
-
3. Pin
The passing entry is hashed with SHA-256 and recorded in the catalog manifest; an entry that fails is set aside with a written reason, never deleted.
-
4. Call
Kundi applications call the entry by name or by hash. A mismatched pin is refused, never silently substituted.
Deterministic math, on your hardware.
Deterministic math on custom hardware, not dependent on GPUs. The same inputs give the same outputs, run after run, so an examiner can replay a decision.
-
Inside Your Perimeter
Runs on infrastructure you control. Models and data stay inside your perimeter, and nothing calls home.
-
Quantum-Resilient
Built for the post-quantum transition that federal deadlines put in 2030 and 2031. Records and decisions stay confidential and verifiable after a cryptographically relevant quantum computer exists.
